US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, who has a mental or physical disability. The goal is to enable young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the US Youth Soccer family. TOP Soccer provides a much needed outlet for children with mental and physical disabilities.
The program works by pairing TOPSoccer player with an Illinois Fire Juniors player “buddy” during practices and games. The buddy acts as an on field coach, helping to guide their TOPSoccer player to the action while providing space for the player to fully participate in the game. It is a rewarding experience for both the TOPSoccer Player and their buddy.
The following forms are required and must be presented on the first day of practice for players to be able to participate.
This form is required for all players with Down Syndrome. It is optional for all other players.
